Ambassadors of Dance

We are proud to offer our students the ability to train as Assistant Teachers through our Ambassadors of Dance program. On the back of the success of the Teacher Trainee program which commenced in 2014, we continue to offer this program across 4 DanceStep levels. Ambassadors will be supporting Senior staff members in their weekly classes, along with participating in training sessions with our faculty. Ambassadors of dance will be assigned classes on a day different to that in which they participate in their own classes. They will be given support and encouragement to create curriculum with which to teach, managing a classroom and preparing dancers for performance. Ambassadors will participate in training sessions and various professional development programmes throughout the year.

Dance As Therapy

Port Macquarie Performing Arts invite local kids to participate in a fun creative movement dance program specifically developed for children with sensory processing issues.  Our eight week program brings experienced dance educators together with qualified Occupational Therapists, Neuro-Chiropractors and Behavioural Optometrists to deliver a therapeutic dance program aimed at developing neural pathways to improve your child’s sensory integration.

PMPA Dancers School Pick Up

Wondering how to get your kids to dancing after school? Catch the PMPA Dance Bus.

Cost is $15 per trip.

At Port Macquarie Performing Arts we give our students the opportunity to perform in a full length production every single year. Every second year we perform a ballet from the classic repertoire whether that be Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Coppelia or a range of 1 Act ballets as part of our Gala Night at the Ballet Series. All ballet students who participate in 2 ballet classes a week have the opportunity to perform in these ballets every 2nd year.
